About this scholarship

SkillsUSA scholarships are attached to contest performance in skilled trades and technical programs — welding, automotive, HVAC, cosmetology, and dozens more. Amounts vary by sponsor. There is typically no separate personal essay; you compete, then awards follow. High school and college/technical members who compete at state or nationals should ask their advisor which scholarships ride on their contest. This is one of the few national paths that pays a trade student without pretending they are applying to a liberal-arts college.
