Our take

Scholarship search shouldn't end in a loan pitch

You came looking for help paying for school. We don't think that should be an opening to sell you debt. Wonaride doesn't offer student loans, loan refinancing, or loan referrals, and we have no plans to add them.

Borrowing is a separate decision

Some students will need to consider loans. That isn't a personal failure, and a scholarship app shouldn't make them feel like it is. But comparing borrowing costs is a different job from finding scholarship money. Our position is that you should choose to enter that conversation, with its own information and tradeoffs, rather than get nudged into it halfway through a scholarship search.

We want the product to earn its subscription

Our model is to charge students for useful application tools. That puts the work in a place we understand: make the repeated forms easier, make unfinished tasks obvious, and help students spend their time on applications they can complete. We don't need a loan product to explain why any of those features should exist.

A no-loans policy isn't a scholarship guarantee

We still have to build something worth using. Staying out of lending doesn't make our matches perfect, make every application eligible, or persuade a sponsor to pick you. Check award requirements with the sponsor and keep your own records. We'd rather you assess the product on the work it saves than mistake our business stance for a promise of funding.

Hold us to the plain version

Here's the commitment without a slogan: we have no plans to add loan features to Wonaride. If you're checking out the app, you should be able to tell what you're using, what it costs, and whether it has finished a real task. That's the standard we'd want from a scholarship platform ourselves.
